How the price is worked out
Costs per order are the product, packaging, any delivery you pay yourself, and your ad cost per order. The COD or payment fee and your profit are both shares of the selling price, so the price is the costs divided by what's left: price = costs ÷ (1 − fee% − profit%).
The price is then rounded up to the ending you choose, such as Rs 1,799, and the profit and real margin are shown at that rounded price.
Questions, answered
How do I price a product for my online store?
Add up everything one order costs you (product, packaging, any delivery you pay, and your ad cost per order), decide the profit you want as a share of the price, and divide the costs by what's left after fees and that margin.
Why divide instead of adding a markup?
Fees such as the courier's COD charge are a percentage of the selling price, so they grow when the price grows. Dividing the costs by (1 − fee% − margin%) gives a price that still leaves your margin after those fees.
Should I charge delivery separately?
Either works. If you charge it separately, enter 0 for delivery you pay. Many Pakistani stores fold it into the price and advertise free delivery.
Does this account for COD returns?
No, it assumes every order is delivered. Use the COD profit calculator to see what refused parcels do to your profit.
